COMMON SENSE - THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

Common Sense, written by Thomas Paine in 1776, was an impassioned pamphlet that helped ignite the American Revolution. Published in Philadelphia, Common Sense attacked the idea of hereditary monarchy, dismissed the chance for reconciliation with England, and outlines the benefits of independence while adopting equality of rights for all citizens. Paine fanned a flame that was already burning, but his work unified dissenting voices and persuaded patriots that the American Revolution was not only necessary, but a colossal event in world history.

In honor of the patriots who fought for our freedom in the American Revolution, we at the Revere Golf Club have carried the spirit of Paine’s Common Sense throughout our very own newsletter. Included you will find the latest on golf, events, news, people and features with a flavor pertaining to the "revolutionary golf experience" you will find at The Revere Golf Club.

CONCORD GOLF COURSE OPENED JUNE 1...EARLIER THAN EXPECTED

The championship Concord course, Revere Golf Club’s second Las Vegas golf course opened to the public on June 1...5 months earlier than originally anticipated. Designed by golf course architect Greg Nash and the legendary PGA Tour Player Billy Casper (the team who designed the Revere’s Lexington course), the 7,100 yard par-72 Concord course features many of the same landscape features that the community of the Anthem have grown to love, but will also have a uniqueness, all to it’s own. More than 1,700 trees have been planted throughout the golf course and numerous jagged-edged bunkers will protect the undulating greens and generous fairways. Like the Lexington course, the Concord has some of the most scenic and challenging golf holes in southern Nevada. "The much anticipated Concord course will be a perfect compliment to the award-winning Lexington course and offer one of Las Vegas’ best one-two punches in golf" stated Jim Stegall, General Manager. "Although the course will incorporate the challenging desert terrain, the parallel fairways on the front nine and multiple tee placements will challenge the more accomplished players yet provide a enjoyable and memorable layout for the average and beginning golfers."
