January 24th 2006 - “Best of the Best” Recognized from Over 185 Facilities Worldwide
Scottsdale, Ariz. -- Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale
golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to
recognize the following individuals and facilities for outstanding
performance in 2005. Winners were announced at the 2006 Troon Golf
Management Conference, which recently took place at The Westin Kierland
Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Congratulations to the
following award winners:
2005 Troon Golf “Facility of the Year”
The Revere Golf Club, Las Vegas, Nevada
This facility and staff have clicked on all cylinders for two
years in a row. Las Vegas is one of the toughest markets to decipher,
from a sales and marketing perspective, and the staff at The Revere has
figured it out with ease. The Revere has taken advantage of its
spectacular views for both golfers and diners, and marketed that
seamlessly to ensure solid growth in all areas over the past few
years.
2005 Troon Golf “General Manager of the Year”
Matt Hurley, Legacy Golf Club, Bradenton, Florida
Matt is a veteran with Troon Golf -- one of the best trainers in
the network and a great promoter of the company. He has had an
exceptional past three years, exceeding expectations in nearly every
category; and his creativity and energy inspire his staff and make
Legacy the place it is.
2005 Troon Golf “Superintendent of the Year”
Curtis Tyrell, Lake of Isles, North Stonington, Connecticut
Curtis is a superstar with agronomics and has an innate ability to
successfully manage relationships. His product is as good as it gets
in the Northeast!
2005 Troon Golf “Most Improved Facility of the Year”
TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, Snoqualmie, Washington
Jeff Ducharme and his team have improved member satisfaction in
every survey question. Hosting the Boeing Great Seattle Classic, a
stop on the PGA Champions Tour, was possible due to the entire team
working on improving every aspect of the operation. This was an
extremely successful event and an incredible year for the Snoqualmie
team.
2005 Troon Golf “Associate of the Year”
Gary Proch, Facility Maintenance Engineer, Moon Valley Country Club, Phoenix
Working in a back-of-the-house position and knowing as many
members as Gary knows says it all. His work ethic, enthusiasm and
dedication not only to Moon Valley Country Club, but also to his fellow
associates and members, are second to none. He is not only an integral
part of Moon Valley; he is an integral part of the Troon Golf family!
2005 Troon Golf “Facility Newcomer of the Year”
Lake of Isles, North Stonington, Connecticut
The entire team at Lake of Isles has done a magnificent job of
entering into the market and immediately making a name for themselves.
Lake of Isles has quickly become the place to play in the Northeast!
Rees Jones did a marvelous job with the golf course and now the team is
doing a great job taking care of it!
2005 Troon Golf “W.I.T.S” (Walk In Their Shoes) Award
Hugo Bremer, Playa Mujeres Golf Club, Cancun, Mexico
Hugo has been a strong supporter of Troon Golf for a number of
years. Battling the 2005 hurricane season was no easy feat, but Hugo
made it through like a champion. Everyone at Troon Golf appreciates
his efforts and looks forward to Playa Mujeres opening this spring.
2005 Troon Golf “Turnaround Facility of the Year”
The Montgomerie Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Excelling in every category of rating, Ken Kosak and his team have
worked hard to ensure that The Montgomerie is a “must play” for all who
visit the region.
Ocotillo Golf Resort, Chandler, Arizona
2005 was an extremely successful year at Ocotillo. In a very
competitive market, the facility’s financial turnaround has been
remarkable. Tom Cortabitarte and his team have had three strong years
of improvement in nearly every metric tracked.
2005 Troon Golf “Ambassador” Award
Ray Metz, Palmilla Golf Club, Los Cabos, Mexico
Always going above and beyond to make sure Troon Golf is
recognized, Ray is a constant champion for the company. He is truly an
ambassador for Troon Golf and the embodiment of what associates
worldwide strive to become.
